MODULE 4

This week we explored Podcasts and Vodcasts and using Youtube in the classroom.  These can be used to effectively present ideas in the classroom.  I found this module very interesting as I have not used podcasts in my teaching before.  I would like to begin to use them in my classroom as the activities that you could implement are endless.I would like to incorporate Story nory into m reading groups, especially for those struggling students  They would be able to hear the text read correctly.

Youtube is an amazing site and I use it quite extensively in my classroom.I find that the children are engaged and motivated when I use it. In my class I use it for a variety of KLA's.  In Science this term, I used it to teach the water cycle.  Rather than have then children listen to me teach it, I downloaded a youtube clip and played it a couple of times.It's amazing how the children can pick up the technical terms and understand it.  Part of that lesson too, they then created their own raps as well. Using the terms, precipitation, condensation and evaporation.

I haven't used iTunes at school.   This Term our school purchased iPads.  At the moment Year One are using them.  Hopefully, other classes will get them later on.  Last week we attended a meeting on iPads and how to use them in the classroom.  We were shown lots of different educational aps that we can use in the classroom.  There is something for everyone&so many are being created every day.  The children in Year One love them!!
